BREAKING SPRING

Sunday, March 27, 2016

Tomorrow marks the first "official" day of spring break, and I'm excited to announce that I will be in Chicago from today (Sunday) until this upcoming Saturday!

I'm excited to have adventures, to explore new places, and to meet new people. I'll be participating in Wheaton College's Connection program (my first-ever college visit), and I'll (hopefully) be vlogging the entire time!

I'm planning to put together a series of posts about my time in Chicago, but I'll also be attempting to daily vlog on my YouTube channel

Thanks, and I'll see you guys later!

CREATIVE RELEASE // IN VERSE

Sunday, March 13, 2016

Wow.
It’s four days that I’ve last been gone, which I’ll admit is far too long. But I do have an excuse, of which I will refuse to share the details, because of all that that entails--you’ll be stuck here listening to me gut the entrails of the messy things of life that I’ve had to encounter.

10 WAYS TO STAY CREATIVE AS YOU GET OLDER

Wednesday, March 9, 2016

For some reason, I find myself believing that younger kids are more creative than older ones. They have bigger imaginations and bigger dreams, and, in some cases, better ideas.
I believe that this is because the older we grow, the more we experience and learn reality. Because we learn that one of our ideas “isn’t realistic,” we discard that idea altogether and throw out all other ideas like it.

HOW TO: TRANSITIONAL INSTAGRAM FEED

Monday, March 7, 2016

If you know me, you’ll know that I love Instagram. It’s a place that’s artsy and funky and bright and, if you’re in the company of other good users, a great community for people who are a lot like you.
Recently, I’ve been steadily growing my Instagram feed which, as it is to any other Instagram user, is very important to me. I don’t just like sticking with the same consistent theme, however--I’ve been trying to find ways to seamlessly transition into other variants of the same base, so I came up with something I call the transitional Instagram feed.

MARCH'S CREATIVE CHALLENGE // MONOCHROMATIC

Saturday, March 5, 2016

Creative Challenge (noun) : Specific exercises designed to inspire others to explore, learn, and create art that is noble, pure, and worthy of praise.

I’ve taken a couple of art classes in my life, and one of the things that I learned was that an object’s shading is the same exact color as the object itself, just a different hue. For example, if a water bottle cast a shadow on a blue table, the shadow would be a darker version of table color.

DEVELOPING YOUR CREATIVE PHILOSOPHY + A CALL FOR Q&A QUESTIONS!

Tuesday, March 1, 2016

Everyone has a philosophy, a worldview on his/her life. It affects the way that we view the circumstances that surround us and every decision that we make as a result of that perspective.
