FEBRUARY'S CREATIVE CHALLENGE // Random Clothes Challenge

Tuesday, February 2, 2016

Creative Challenge (noun) : Specific exercises designed to inspire others to explore, learn, and create art that is noble, pure, and worthy of praise.

Sometimes randomness can lead to inspiration that leads to creativity. I explain everything about the Random Clothes Challenge in the video, but if you don’t want to watch me dance around in scratchy sweaters, read on!

  1. Gather three to four different piles of clothing categories (I did tops, bottoms, jackets, and accessories, although you can improvise depending on your wardrobe).
  2. Close your eyes/use a blindfold.
  3. Choose one article of clothing from each pile RANDOMLY. Don’t try to feel your way around to find the piece of clothing you want--that defeats the whole purpose of the challenge!
  4. No matter how ugly, outrageous, or weird the outfit is, try it on! You never know--you might like it.

Here are the results of my Random Clothes Challenge down below!

The more clothing you use, the more variety you’ll have. Since I only used a couple of different pieces of clothing per pile, it wasn’t as variant or weird as I would’ve liked had I actually been looking for a new outfit to wear (although the first outfit was a bit crazy, haha).

Change up the rules! Divide your jewelry into earrings, necklaces, and rings and try on different combinations of them! Throw makeup looks into the mix!

If you’re having a sleepover, this would be a fun way to have a pajama fashion show. If you want to find something to wear with your sisters, try swapping wardrobes and choosing outfits for one another. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find that you like some of the combinations that you try!
