I’m a huge fan of Instagram. It’s the first social media I ever got, so I have a special attachment to it. Recently, though, I’ve been getting more and more involved with the artsier side of it, including dabbling in VSCOCam and creating an actual theme. This has led to me noticing other people’s accounts and themes...which is leading ME to sharing with YOU some of the Instagram accounts that I absolutely adore.

10 BEAUTIFUL INSTAGRAM ACCOUNTS TO FOLLOW

I decided to give lists another shot after the positive reception to my 101 Ways to Fail a Driving Test post! (Hit the link if you haven’t already read it.) I’ve had to deal with any number of annoying people in my life, so this is just a way to spell out what you should not do to them (no matter how much you want to).

101 Ways You SHOULDN'T Deal w/ Annoying People

Hello, everyone! Rachel here. Today, I'm introducing a new series called "A Day in the Life of a Content Creator." Basically, I'll be post/content-swapping with creatives from all over the Internet, and it'll be amazing because you'll get a peek into other people's routines!

I'll let my special guest introduce herself today!

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CONTENT CREATOR // ABBIEE FROM ABBIEEMUSICBLOG.COM

I'M DOING A LINKUP!!

Last month, I announced the start of a linkup entitled "A Piece of My Heart," a monthly linkup open to all people with blogs or social media accounts on which they could share their creations that corresponded to the month's theme.

A PIECE OF MY HEART FEBRUARY LINKUP ANNOUNCEMENT // BOXED IN

Admittedly, I'm not a huge fan of DIYs. I was just never really that into them, then or now--I would always use the materials differently from how I was instructed. It was never fun for me to have to follow other people's methods of doing things, and when my finished products never turned out the same as the model projects, I'd get frustrated.

THE ART OF CREATION // VIDEO + PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION

this will be a lowercase post, just because i’m feeling like it and i’ve learned that you guys all like artsy. so this is artsy me.

i’ve hit a rough patch lately, mostly in my mental game. outwardly, everything’s okay. i have a house. i have a family. i’m still in the swing of things when it comes to school. stuff is already lining up for senior year that i’m really excited about. and scared for. but mostly excited about.
but in terms of everything else, i feel insecure.

CREATIVE CONVERSATIONS #2 // INSECURITIES

I’m not a great gift-giver. In the past years, I’ve left all my birthday/Christmas shopping to the night before, and I used to get stuff from the Target dollar section because I’m cheap and I don’t like spending money. I’m also not a great scientist, judging from my current grade in AP Bio.

But I, however, have decided to give you advice on the science of gift-giving, mostly because I was thinking about what to write and I was like, HEY, TRYING TO GIVE A GIFT IS A LOT LIKE THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD!

And it actually is. You’d be surprised. It’ll blow your mind. And I’m not quite sure if this is the exact scientific method, but it’s pretty close to it, so just deal with me, yes?

THE SCIENCE OF GIFT-GIVING // MEET BERTHA!

You’ve got an idea. You’re pretty sure it’s a good one, after testing it according to part one of this series.

What now?

You need a game plan.

Yes, I have another printable. I’m calling it your Good Idea Game Plan. I can’t tell you how, exactly, you’re going to map out the road to making your idea a reality, mostly because I don’t know your idea or its context. But I can show you the components of a good Game Plan...and really, that’s all you need.

THE GAME PLAN OF A GOOD IDEA (+ YES, ANOTHER PRINTABLE!)

If I’m honest, ideas bombard me. Constantly. I scribble ideas on random slips of paper, the dry-erase board in my room, on my school planner, and occasionally even on my own skin (with a pen...I'm not a tattoo artist, thank goodness). I have documents on Google Drive chock-full of ideas for stories and random endeavors that I’d pursue if I was a different person in a different life.

This is both a blessing and a curse. It’s a blessing because I’m almost never bored--my ideas make my life interesting. If I’m stuck doing something boring, like chores, I often find myself sifting through these ideas, imagining different scenarios in which they’d play out. It’s impossible to make all those ideas a reality, of course, but it’s nice to imagine them.

It’s a curse because you never know which of your ideas is actually a good one.

THE ANATOMY OF A GOOD IDEA (+ 2 PRINTOUTS!)

Recently, my friend Rachael came over to my house, and we conducted a little photoshoot in my house and yard. It was partially so my blog could have actual images instead of just all graphics, and partially for fun. Since you'll already be seeing the "for-blog" images we took, I thought it might be fun to share how we went about this photoshoot + the (unedited) results.

HOW TO: PHOTOSHOOT

I’m a busy person. You probably are too. What with school/work, family, friends, and fun, along with all the emotional/physical baggage that comes with being a human, sometimes we don’t have time to express ourselves and be consciously creative the way we want to be.
The good thing, though, is that you always create more than you think you do. Humans are constantly creating, whether through our words or through our actions. So if you don’t have time to write that poetry that you’ve got bouncing around in your head or make the videos you’ve always wanted to make, here are some ways that you can be creative in your everyday life.

5 WAYS TO CREATE IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE

Creative Challenge (noun) : Specific exercises designed to inspire others to explore, learn, and create art that is noble, pure, and worthy of praise.

Sometimes randomness can lead to inspiration that leads to creativity. I explain everything about the Random Clothes Challenge in the video, but if you don’t want to watch me dance around in scratchy sweaters, read on!
